The Ya Ya Trees were painted as representational of friends. Our lives would be incomplete without our wonderful friends to walk with us thorough all aspects of our lives. Just as each of these trees are unique and colourful, so are the people we choose to share our lives with. I see every colour as meaning. Red is energy, strength, power and passion; Blue is peace, stability, confidence and integrity; Pink is compassion, beauty, love and faithfulness; Purple is magic, wisdom, royalty and luxury; Green is growth, healing, safety and freshness; Yellow is joy, cheerfulness, warmth and caution; Black is power, mystery, security and formality; Orange is excitement, daring, courageous and confidence. Just as each colour makes us feel different, each of our friends have particular stand out qualities that are unique and wonderful. This series is a celebration of friends and who they are to us in our lives.
